This section is for IFA members that host their website on fine-art.com. It explains how to create
secure webpages. Normally, you will only use this for order forms.
Secure Socket Layers...
Our server utilizes the latest security protocols from Thawte. It it supported by most web browsers
including Microsoft IIS and Netscape.
Instructions...
Assume you have a page that has a link to a form on your website used to gather confidential information.
The link on your form needs to be in the following format:
https://www.fine-art.com/your_directory/form_name.html
The actual location of this URL is the same as if it were a standard 'http'
request.
Some Things to Avoid...
Once a viewer is in a secure socket layer they will need to revert back to normal
'http' mode. To do this, make sure EVERY link out of your form (or the resulting output) refers to the ENTIRE 'http' URL.
Another common problem involves images in your secure area. Make sure you don't 'pull' off to an insecure area (outside your directory). Putting graphics in a secure area that are not on the IFA server might lead to error messages
.
