Gary Moss -
Growing up in Minnesota, Gary Moss has both hunted and painted since his early school days. He earned a degree in Printmaking from the Minneapolis College of Art & Design (spending his junior year studying in Holland). After graduation in 1968, Moss was drafted by the Marines and entered the corps combat art program and was voted Marine Corps Combat Artist of the Year 1970. After the service, he worked in graphic design and did graduate work at the University of Iowa. In 1977 he made up his mind to become a fulltime artist. His capacity for splendid design caught the eyes of judges which led to his winning the 1983 Minnesota waterfowl stamp competition and led to his becoming a sponsor artist for Ducks Unlimited, the National Wildlife Federation, the Minnesota Waterfowl Association, and the Louisiana Wildlife Federation. His paintings have also been selected for exhibit at the prestigious Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum’s "Birds in Art" show seven times.
