Heidi Coutu is most noted for her French and English gardens and pastoral landscapes characterized by the broad, energetic application of paint and brilliant use of color to create light. She has traveled extensively throughout Europe and the United States including an extended trip to the Texas 'outback', known for its incomparable naturalized flower fields.
The artist attended Mount Holyoke College as a Studio Art and Renaissance Studies major and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1979. There she studied bronze casting and metal welding as well as oil painting.
Her work is in numerous corporate and private collections in the United States, Mexico, Australia, and Indonesia. Colombia Pictures, Saint Francis Hospital, Hartford, The Orion Group and The Beverly Hills Hotel are included in her extensive list of corporate collections. Heidi has also exhibited on several occasions at the Springfield Museum of FineArts, Springfield, MA. She has also had many solo and group exhibitions in Europe as well as the United States.
