"Art is an adventure for the artist and viewer alike. Creating paintings as visual ideas is a way of communicating how I see (or feel) the universe. I create art works for myself, making things I find interesting. It is my hope that viewers will enjoy the work visually and discover its mysteries."
John Mominee is a Wisconsin artist known for his handsome, large-format monotypes. Collectors respond to the extraordinary color, sensuous texture and relationship of light to dark. Paint brushed onto a Plexiglas plate that is printed using an etching press creates the monotype. Each “transfer painting” is unique and original.
