RAY ROBERTS
Artist Ray Roberts says, "There is an undercurrent that drives me to paint landscapes. I used to teach a portrait class but when I think about something to paint, the landscape calls me. A lot of that has to do with the country that is vanishing, the little creeks and stream beds that are disappearing, being dammed up and built over."
A traveler and painter of the world, Ray is most drawn to the California landscape. His work has been exhibited in gallery and museum shows throughout California and the West coast. He is a member of Oil Painters of America, and the Laguna Plein Air painters Association. In 2004 he won the Gold medal at the California Art Club show, a prestigious artist's club founded in 1909 of which he is also a member.
He also participated in the exhibition From Sea to Shining Sea: A Reflection of America hosted by the Haggin Museum of Stockton, CA in 2004.
