ARTHUR ALBIN
Eroded textures, bold mark making, and traditional palettes combined with modern techniques help to define the dynamic art of Arthur Albin. Figurative and abstract works, as well as still life studies, are constructed by way of collage, tar, oil paint, acrylic, pastel and graphite in order to create an image with a variety of rich surfaces. Studying photography in New York City; and, theatre and painting at Florida State University, Albin brings several disciplines together in an unusual blend of dramatic color and deep traditional light and composition. Using letters, numbers, found objects and other symbols in his abstract works, this artist provides the viewers with an arena of interpretable information upon which to superimpose their imaginations. Arthur Albin's work can be found in many private and corporate collections in the United States and around the world.
