MING FENG
Before arriving in the United States, Ming Feng has been a prominent artist in his native China. His works are in the permanent collection of the Guangzhou (Canton) Art Museum. He was honored by the Beijing People’s Publishing House which, in 1982, published its annual calendar dedicated exclusively to 12 paintings by Mr. Feng. Usually, such calendars include a single painting from 12 different artists. The calendars are distributed nationwide. His paintings also have been reproduced in art books, magazines and newspapers throughout China.

Born in Guangzhou in 1957, Mr. Feng graduated with honors from the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts in 1986 with a special certificate of Excellence. A number of his works were selected for teaching models. He then became a member of the Association of Chinese Artists and other arts groups.

Mr. Feng has exhibited internationally and received many rewards. In 1975, he became set designer for the Modern Dance Troupe of Guangzhou. Later, for five years (1978 to 1982) his skills were utilized by the Guangzhou Art Design Company where he created layouts, designs for advertisements, product placards, package decorations, and book illustrations.

Ming Feng works in oils and acrylics, utilizing both traditional Chinese painting techniques and western styles. His works include figures, landscapes and symbolism. His paintings have been acclaimed for richness of tone, detailing and masterful technique.
