ROSS LINDSAY
In his formative years, Ross Lindsay learned to paint on canvas attached to the walls rather than stretching it first. He continues to paint in this fashion today. Ross comments, “I can be more emotional and expressionistic when the painting is flat on the wall with the sheetrock supporting the whole canvas and not the traditional process where the only supports are along the edges.” Ross Lindsay begins his creative process layering thick gesso on the canvas to give it texture. Ross artistically layers paint glazes on top of the canvas to give depth. Multiple focal points draw the viewer into the painting. Today Ross Lindsay’s focus is on spending more time on the production of each painting. Lindsay’s most recent one-man shows of all acrylic on canvas were enormous successes. His exhibitions began in 1980, his partial list of corporate collectors are nearing 100. Private collectors are in the United States, France, Spain, and Canada.
