CARLSON
Lee Carlson was born in Beaverton, Oregon. He attended the University of Oregon. Carlson is influenced by the works of Hartley, Matisse, De Chirico and Warhol. His favorite past time is white water rafting and he also enjoys gardening. Carlson's career began when he was a Botany student. His love for nature is evident in his artwork. Carlson says, "My paintings are an attempt to express the same sense of intoxicating beauty as, for instance, when you see wildflowers." Harmony and balance together with a vibrant color palette lend dramatically to his approach.
