Matt Rinard’s work is famous for ironic, surprising and just a little off-kilter humor. His paintings and prints are also prized for their bold composition and vibrant colors, but it is the artist’s quirky sense of humor and his subject matter that have won him a devoted following around the world
Despite Rinard’s work growing in commercial popularity, acclaimed exhibits in both Europe and North America (he is currently preparing for a spring comprehensive one-man exhibition at Gronau Jazz Fest, outside Frankfurt, Germany) and talks with the Cartoon Network in Hollywood to create an animated show for TV, one of the earliest critics of his work still won’t give him a break. “I’ll show my father my latest stuff, and he’ll just shake his head,” says Rinard. “He doesn’t get it.”
