ProfileBeautiful colors, nicely done shades and forms. Beautiful view in generally, i love this composition.   9/23/2012
ProfileThe subject matter and title lend a personal touch to this painting, which is also well executed. The sunlight on the cracked stone steps is particularly well done. It makes the viewer want to follow that path into the rest of the garden.  8/29/2012

Moon Face

ProfileNice picture, too bad it is so small here, and it's hard to see the details. But from what i can see i like colors and shades. Moon are looking very lovely in that corner, good job.  9/20/2012
ProfileThis piece is so spare, it comes across at first as a photograph rather than an oil painting. I love the deep blue, the orange tint of the moon, and the implied moonlight on the bridge. Very nice.  9/4/2012

ProfileThe photograph of this piece is stunning, and the piece itself is utterly gorgeous. I really wish I could see it in more angles -- it's very much a three-dimensional artwork. Beautifully done!  9/4/2012

village in mountains

ProfileI really enjoy the intense hues of this painting, which has such a watercolor feel in the execution. My favorite aspect is the winding line created by the layout of the landscape and buildings, all the way down into the water. Lovely!  9/19/2012

ProfileSuch a mysterious, intriguing world is depicted here. There's an ancient and dreamlike feeling evoked in the simple architecture of this environment, as well as the small size of the human figures in comparison. The central figure here is the bridge and the water that it spans. I would be curious to...  9/19/2012
ProfileI see some sort of magical world here. There are some accurate parts but mostly some smearing ones, which leaves room to imagination for completing a story. I love use of orange color, in it's different variations.  9/1/2012

Swilcan Bridge, St. Andrews...

ProfileI really like the contrasts in textures available here. The old, rough stonework cuts through vegetation that lacks the sharpness of manmade objects. The swathe of water curving through nicely mirrors the curvature of the bridge as well, and helps lead the eye to the sharp lines and angles of the ci...  9/14/2012
ProfileWhat makes this painting really work for me as a viewer is the tangible, believable texture of the stones in the foreground. Nice choice compositionally to fill up the foreground with the stone bridge. I also like the hint of haze that gives a time of day reference.  8/29/2012
ProfileI suppose this is imaginary town. It is possible that this is just some painted idea, by the bridge that connects two sides of river. Anyway it's very clear painting, bright colors, interesting point of view.  8/26/2012

Returning Birds

These add another layer of complexity without making the piece overly angular. It really is...  9/14/2012

Walking In The Park

ProfileThe colors took my breath away. I love how vivid the orange halos around the lights are. The bold lighting helps me feel the excitement and happiness the couple on the path might be feeling -- a romantic night out, perhaps.  8/19/2012

The choices you make

ProfileThis painting would have been very intriguing even without the title, which clarifies the pose of the figure. Lilies And Goldfish

ProfileBeautiful work. Flowers are looking just like real. Nice transition with bright and dark colors, makes my eyes focus on a flowers only. Nice touch by adding fishes in to the picture, they bring some good mood.  9/2/2012
ProfileThe detail in each petal of the lilies is incredible. I like how you showed the goldfish taking shelter in the shade of the lilies; this adds a sense of depth to a painting which might have seemed flat otherwise, since there's not true horizon in this piece.  8/24/2012

Summer Bounty

ProfileSweet picture! Very nice composition by placing a flower on a left side of a picture. This element lets to eyes focus on a whole picture, and not just on a flower. Also great work with sun light!  9/2/2012
ProfileThis is a very engaging work. The realistic detail, color palette, and sense of movement and sunlight all work together well. The water is particularly well done. Nice job!  8/29/2012
ProfileThe composition...the lily pads draw your eye to the blossom, then the blue ripples dance you over toward the top, where the dark break in the ripples lead you right back to the blossom again.
ProfileThank you so much Charles. You speak as an aritst perhaps? This piece is all about the light passing through the petals, dancing off the lillies.
ProfileThis has a fresh look of an old subject...especially liking the lack of a "overworked" appearance...the impression of the subject comes through clearly and allows the viewer's imagination to finish what the artist started.

Grazing

ProfileThe high degree of skillful realism is obviously part of what makes this piece great. My favorite aspect, though, is the interplay of textures and patterns-- zebra stripes, grass, clouds, and trees. The distinction between darkest darks and grays is really nicely done, too.  8/29/2012
ProfileAmazing detail! Expert understanding of the reality.  3/13/2012
ProfileAn excellent use of charcoal. Your detail is great and helps to make the drawing look real. I feel like the zebra's ( the onefacing the viewer) nose is a bit large, but maybe it's just me.The lines in the drawing are all very crisp and you made good use of shadow. An excellent art piece overall.
ProfileBeautiful work! Amazing detail, good composition, like the 2 opposite views (a little humour maybe?), and the background supports your main subject without being a distraction.

ProfileNice tonal balance, light and movement. Ienjoy the way this piece draws the eye in and around and the quality of the surface. It seems a work inspired by great understanding and love.  12/27/2011
ProfileExquisite as always David. The monochromism works so well here with the marble like features. Love this and would hang it on my wall!
ProfileThis painting was done in a gray scale manner. The texture on the canvas is not unlike steel and has a reflective quality to it. Most of it was painted using my hands and fingers. David Ehlen
ProfileWow this is so cool. I think it's something I'd like to hang over my sofa. It make me think of a church. Or of architecture. A few more colors would be nice, but they are not necessary. It looks like you had a lot of fun making this. Also it is mysterious.

ProfileNice painting. I love work of shades you done here, it brings on light to a subject at the picture. The story seems simple and sad, but when you looking on other objects there is possibility to some hidden subtext here.  8/26/2012
