Wish Upon a Star

Profilestates such a wonderful mood  12/28/2012
ProfileSuch an interesting visual choice to make the quality of light from the window slats become the real star of the image. A monochromatic palette was an excellent decision here.  10/8/2012

ProfileThis piece is very whimsical, with an almost fairy tale quality to it. The focus on the girl and the clean colors give it a misleading sense of simplicity. The girl turns her back on the darkness behind her and leaps into an unknown, which is brighter but still undefined.  10/12/2012

ProfileThis is beautiful! I am normally not a fan of modern abstract paintings , but this one just takes my heart with it. Ahh. The colors, the movement of the frame strokes on the left side, everything is just gorgeous. It makes quite a grand statement about the speech of life.  11/21/2012

ProfileAlright alrgiht alright that's exactly what I needed!  11/18/2012
ProfileThere's a feeling of isolation and even abandonment permeating this piece, and the dark sky overhead just makes it more oppressive. There's something very sad to me about unused old buildings and overgrowing fields... This is a beautiful piece.  10/24/2012
ProfileI love how you've essentially taken two subjects and turned them into a way to create a vivid line. It's almost hard to tell where the building ends and the truck begins. The curved landscape in the background does a great job of providing a different type of line in contrast with the foreground sub...  10/3/2012

ProfileHi Ded Wards, Thank you so much for your comments, it is very much appreciated! Kind Regards, Sam   11/18/2012
ProfileI like the unexpectedness of the subject in this setting. The framework looks much like a backdrop/overlay combination for a portrait of a human being, but instead the rat sits for the photographer, just as attentive and engaged a model as a human would be.  10/24/2012

ProfileNice piece, very unique style, but looking very elegant. Beautiful line in a middle, hidden by the mix of bright lines and colors. Good work  9/3/2012
ProfileI'm not an expert on this medium, but there's obvious technical skill here. I like the choice to let some details drift away indistinctly. Really interesting texture and monotone that keeps the viewer's attention on the lion's head.  8/29/2012

ProfileIt is very complicated piecewhichmakes it interesting. It has unique style, and many details that can tell a lot of stories. Good work.  10/17/2012
ProfileThis piece really captures a sense of the bizarre and the fantastic. Were it not for the vivid color palette, I might have taken this for concept art from MirrorMask. The two figures seem to have distinctly different emotional states, which pushes me to wonder the cause for their feelings. But t...  10/16/2012
ProfileThis is my favorite type of surrealist or whimsical image - one that includes multiple intriguing story elements and invites the viewer to fill in the narrative gaps. The composition and palette also work really well in this piece.  10/3/2012

ProfileWow, it looks so real that i believed it is photography at first. Amazing level of realism, so muchattentionto every detail. Shadows and colors - are look real as well. Great job!  11/3/2012
ProfileI thought this was a digitally-drawn image at first and was very surprised to see this had been done with oils. It does have an unusual feeling of "presence" in it, which I think is amplified by the slightly harsh, unforgiving lighting.  10/27/2012

ProfileThis piece is called a Triptek. It is three scenes with the same subject, and was inspired by my son's song which sounded to me to have 3 sections. Thank you so much for the critique..I value all comments. Rosalie  11/10/2012
ProfileBeautiful painting, i can see you divided it in three pieces. My eyesautomaticallyfocusing on the middle one, the sunny piece. It is possible that it is just one person in 3 different time lines, rather then 3 different characters. Great work!  11/10/2012

ProfileThanks! The sky reference is to the way the light from the sky through the curved shutting made curved shadows on the wall.Best wishes, david : )   11/10/2012
ProfileThis is mystery photo, it thebeginningi thought it was some kind of columns, but now i see this is part of some object. By the title i see that sky was an idea here, but by choosing black and white colors, sky do not have any impact on a viewer. But i love your point of view  11/10/2012
ProfileI could stare at this photograph all day long. The composition, positioning of the shadows, it is perfect.  3/13/2012
ProfileThe other visitors on the roof at the time clearly thought I was some kind of nut for pointing my camera at this when one could see the whole of Nice in panorama from close by! And the roof is also littered with artwork by the likes of Yves Klein. david: )

ProfileIts always easy to inspire in the viewers mind a feeling of opposites in character (the main idea in this painting, as you rightly point out) by using chiaroscuro. Untitled Abstract XI

ProfileVery complicated mind, many interesting details, looks verymysteries  11/10/2012
