Down to Dixon

ProfileVery colorful work, looks like see world. There are many interesting details, and good use of imagination.
ProfileThis work uses bold, almost neon, colors to emphasize the lines and shapes of this landscape. What an interesting way to convey the vibrant life of the Southwest, which can sometimes appear monochromatic or dully colored to the casual observer.

The Millinery Shop

ProfileThe subject is classic, and the medium seems to freeze it in time. The contrast in textures between the canvas awning, greenery, and bricks is handled well in order to create interest. The emptiness and lifelessness of the image gives it a sense of pathos as well. . .
ProfileThis is a subtle piece, but one that makes you look closely at the details. The degree of realism is impeccable. I especially like how the texture of the canopy comes alive.
ProfileLooks nice, lovely work of black and white colors. Very classic painting. Really adorable, won't add a bit to it, looks perfect as it is.
Profilegood use of light and dark. Needs a plant or something that shows that people frequent the store.

Ascending

ProfileIt's a deceptively simple-looking image, but any artist will know how much skill and practice it takes to produce work like this. I love the interaction of all the verticals and diagonals in this composition. The subtle beam of light across the central pillars is a nice touch.
ProfileStunning black&white style. Lines and shapes are so nice. Great work!

The Best Time of the Day...

ProfileI'm not sure whether the "best time of day" indicated in the title is early morning or late evening, but either way it makes a compelling scene. The variety of animals present in the image adds a lot of interest. I like that this image combines an active farm scene with a landscape in the background...
ProfileYou've managed to create a nostalgic scene without going overboard on the pathos. The soft light helps place the scene without overwhelming it with dramatism. The color balance is very nice as well; the girl's white dress fits in nicely, making her a part of the scene by connecting her to the livest...

Pond of Dreams

ProfileThere's so much happening in this image, I wish I could see it in person! I especially wonder if it's large or small, as that would seem to affect the overall impact on the viewer. ProfileIt's hard to go wrong with a well-crafted pastoral scene, but this one is especially engaging because of the distinctly modern clothing of the children and the fact that the child in the foreground is gazing directly at the viewer. The spread of cows and children in the composition offsets the dead-...
ProfileThis could be a scene taken straight out of my childhood on the family farm. You caught the spirit of it exactly -- the oversized mud boots the children are wearing are the perfect touch.
ProfileThis painting has some warm impression . It tells some sweet story about peaceful village, when kids and cows are interesting mix in it. Choise of a season is also very successful in my opinion.

ProfileAside from the realism, which is particularly amazing in the shoulder and in the texture of the skin, this piece has a powerful emotional component. The overwhelming senses of loneliness of loss permeate the work. Beautifully done.
ProfileThis picture brings some kind of lonely feeling, but the way it is painted is incredible. Man's hand are looking so real, every single line in them is real. Interesting context, nice touch with a background, good work.
ProfileExquisite realism here--the hands and planes of the back are just right. You also did a lovely job with skin tone, and the gray background highlights that. There is some implied pathos here that makes this image very engaging.

Heavenly Jerusalem

ProfileThe floating city is a scene straight from the fairy tales of many different cultures. I love the mirage-like quality you gave Heaven-Jerusalem, which I feel captures much of the spiritual aspect the city has for many people. Beautiful work.
ProfileThis is very nice idea, straight from fairytale but still nice, to connect Heaven and Jerusalem in such a way. I love all those rich details, and all that soft colors on the background. Nice work.
ProfileA nice piece technically speaking. The feeling of suspension over a landscape is really well done, and I love the color palette. There's a sense of timelessness in this work.

Profilegorgeous sculpture, i can see every muscle on a horse body, this is really beautiful!

ProfileAmazing sculpture, done very realistic. It isincredible how you could capture all the motion in one piece. Just amazing!

Leopard

ProfileThe brilliant, unreal colors set this strongly in a fantasy realm. I love the contrast between the daytime clouds reflected in the water and the darkening sky above. This reminds me a bit of old Lisa Frank work, with a more surreal edge.
ProfileThis is gorgeous piece. I like your style. Same bright, and delightful colors. And nicely painted leopard. And of course a little trick in a picture, a game with reflection of clouds in a water and night sky in a background. I love it!

Stampede

ProfileSo much energy is captured in this composition, it really lives up to its title. In particular, the horse at far right almost seems out of control in its frenzied galloping. Nice choice to put the viewer right in the path of the stampede!
ProfileThe detail put forth into distinguishing each horse gives this a sense of realism that would have been impossible to capture otherwise. At the same time, you've overlapped the sillhouettes of each animal to give the herd a mob-like quality -- you can just tell that they're panicked and uncontrolled.

ProfilePosed portraits are so much more interesting when the viewer becomes engaged in direct relationship with the subject, and that happens here very effectively. This is a masterful handling of light and shadow, figure drawing, and composition. Really nice work.

A Good String

ProfileThe technical skill of this realistic image is obviously quite high, but what makes it a strong image is the composition and the choice to blur out most of the background, keeping our attention on the horses and rider. Beautiful handling of light in what might have been murky overall.

Antique Roses

ProfileInteresting style, it seems like the vase and flowers are out of focus, this element makes this picture very soft and delicate. Nice color effect, good job.
ProfileThe delicate detailing on the vase and teacup is my favorite aspect of this piece. There's also something touching about the use of the same flower on the lady's hat as the ones in the vase. The blooms fairly burst off the canvas.
ProfileThe classic pastels really give this a retro feel. I like how you coordinated but didn't precisely match the shades of blue in the china and on the ribbon on the hat. This keeps it feeling real rather than cartoony.

Dance of Passion

ProfileHot painting. Nice lines and shades, great job with a red color. It certainly transfers the mood and passion.
ProfileI love the dark, moody colors used for this piece. The slightly muted selection of colors helps keep the focus entirely on the dancer, while the pronounced texture difference between the background and the dress stops it from being confusing to the eye.

ProfileIt's the little gestural touches in this piece that I enjoy, such as the way that the tilt of the figure's head is echoed by the curls of her hair and the shape of her hands. The painting style really puts emphasis on that gestural movement, which works well in this piece.

ProfileInteresting photo, it makes me feel a little bit lonely and in the same time calm.I like how you captured a lady on the photo, and white&black style are certanly making this picture special.

"A Touch of Warmth"...

ProfileSimple and beautiful. Background color leave no choice but to put all the focus on a flowers, while their color is so bright and reminds me of summer and warm days.
ProfileSomething about the composition of this image reminds me of a family portrait, as if the flowers are lined up for a backyard snapshot. That quality brings the viewer to see each individual flower more closely. I like the varied neutral of the background.
ProfileThe neutral wash sets off the blossoms quite well; their vivid color really pops off the canvas, particularly when contrasted with the very dark stems and leaves. Summer Clouds I
