HWCA artists will flash their latest work in a two-day exhibit at The Foundry.

Sensual watercolor, vivid acrylic, sculpture, and intricate mosaic images are included in the show.

"Houstonians love art," says HWCA president and sculptor, Joy Mullett, "and we're providing an intense art experience and two social events to add to their love affair."

The two-day exhibit includes an evening reception, an afternoon tea, and art that reflects the broad traditions of the local art community.

Featured artists include: Hazel Birchenough, Piyali Dasgupta, Wanda Harding, Rona Lesser, Joy Mullett, Judy McConnell, Sylvia Caplan Rawley, and Judith Shamp.

Saturday's reception for the artists is a celebration of the deep and abiding desire to create.

Sunday's Tea and Torch event features the music of Houston Ballet Orchestra violinist Karen Hall Wilkson, who will present sentimental love songs.

Foundry manager Paul Sumrall says he "welcomes the afternoon tea" because it encourages more people to visit the industrial-strength exhibit space housed in The Foundry.

HWCA is a 26-year-old 501(c)(3) arts organization run by artists. The organization creates opportunities for its members' art to be seen, evaluated and sold. Membership is open to everyone.
