Born in France, Marcel Franquelin studied at the National Academy of Fine Arts (Les Beaux-Arts) and the University of Lille where he received a masters degree in Fine Arts and Art History. In the United States since 1986, he spent three years teaching in New York City and exhibiting his artwork through art galleries in N.Y.C and new Jersey. His work has been published in art magazines such as American Artist and School Arts. Now working mostly on commission, he devotes most of his time teaching Art in his studio.

Profile When you work on this type of project, this is not really a matter of patience....As you go, it puts you on a different level of state of mind, peaceful and gratifying...Don't get me wrong, it will get you tired and sometimes, a break is needed for the eyes! Profile I work with 0.3mm mechanical pencils (2h,h,hb and b) and 2 0.5mm (2b and 4b), a pencil shape eraser (called "tuff stuff", $1.00) and a small Sakura electric eraser, nothing else. I do not like the look of smirred pencil, so instead I constantly cross very short lines (by the way, I pull about a quar...
