This is a super hand colored steel engraving signed in pencil by the artist Joseph Nash. The engraving is called A Peaceful Hour Southam. There is a ridge from the plate and the signature expends into the image. The image size is 9 inches by 12.5 inches. The picture is double matted, framed & has glass. The overall size is 22 inches by 26.5 inches. The picture is of a cavalier of the 17th century sitting in his manor house before his Adam fireplace having a nap with his dogs. Very attractive. I acquired this unframed in the 1960s, had it framed & had it in a bedroom of a Victorian since. Now however, it doesn't fit the new decor, so...
