This is an original acrylic painting on canvas. I channeled a little Jackson Pollock in the chaos part of the painting. This is a study for a larger artwork in a 30" x 30" size. You can commission a custom work in any size and colors that you like

Meaning of fleur de lis:
The fleur de lis is a stylized lily. Fleur means flower in french and lis means lily. It has long been used in history for everything from decorative ornaments to kings and military insignia. In July 2008 the fleur-de-lis became the official symbol of the state of Louisiana

Linda Paul:Artists Statement:When asked What is your favorite painting, I always say, the next one I am going to paint! Style: I don't paint in any one style, I let inspiration speak to me and I go with the flow. My work runs the gamut from chunky realism to abstract and impressionist painting. I use many different mediums to create my artworks. One of my favorites is egg tempera which I make by crushing stones and minerals and adding egg yolk. Blues come from crushed lapis lazuli, greens from malachite and natural green earth found around Verona Italy. This medium is luminous and lasts for centuries.I also make my own acrylic paint in the same manner. By adding pure pigment to a acrylic polymer. I can add thing like crushed mica and pearlescents to make the painting come alive. Lately I have also been working with glass and precious metal like silver, copper and 23 karat goldArtist's Inspiration:I am inspired by so many things! I especially like nature in all her forms. I like concepts, process and abstract ideasIn my still life/landscape paintings, like to juxtapose sculpted bas-relief products of nature (the chunky part) against soft impressionist landscapes of their origins.

Profile Fleur de Lis it's Form, that why it's not abstract, may be semi-abstract?   3/7/2012
