The word that comes to mind is "pathos." A vulnerable figure, impersonal since we have only a back view from the shoulders down--the dress is more a character than the figure herself. 10/3/2012 |

The angle and contrast combine to almost make this look like a charcoal sketch, particularly in the curve of the model's shoulder. The effect is a little eerie to me, blurring the line between the real and the imagined. 9/17/2012 |
