A native of Durham, North Carolina, Lydell A. Jackson is an artist who brings life and intensity to every medium he uses in communicating his visions of art. Lydell has been an award winning professional artist for more than 25 years. His talents have allowed him to gain national and international exposure for his work as an illustrator, multimedia designer and 3D animator. He majored in fine art at Chowan College, in Murfreesboro, N.C., though most of his skills are self-taught. He has trained in animation at Disney Institute, worked on projects with Warner Brothers, Coca-Cola, NASA, IBM, GE, SAS and scores of other major corporations in America and abroad. Since 1986, he has won numerous awards, for visual art, design and animation effects. As a balance to his working career, in his home studio Lydell has been producing beautiful works of art that he enjoys sharing with everyone. He now focuses on his life as a fine-arts professional and a grandfather. The influence of computer technology and the digital medium is evident in much of Lydells current work. It adds visual boldness to his style, not a techno-industrial feeling at all, but beautiful simplicity. His love for people, variety and color is well reflected in much of the work he has produced. His figurative works always reflect cultural dignity and esteem. His choice of colors, and the manner in which he applies them is esthetically gracious no matter the subject. The simplicity of composition and form are enduring hallmarks of his digital work. His experience and dedication to his craft are overwhelmingly evident.Lydell on Art: Art and painting for me are more than creative outlets. They are gifts from above. There are many occasions that leave me in awe. I stand back and examine my work. Then I realize there is more at work than my personal talents. Painting for me becomes part of my spiritual connection. Unexplainable, beyond technical skills and above innate abilities are the special creative gifts given to us by God and the universe. I most certainly feel privileged that God has given me a visual gift to share with others. All that I do only calls attention to what God has already created. I am only one of hundreds of thousands of individuals who have this privilege. I hope as I express myself in a visual way, those who encounter my work will be moved by it and understand its greater value. If there is anything profoundly interesting about my work, perhaps it is its ability to captivate does not originate with me. It rest with the viewer and their connection to something greater. Im not creating, only recreating and imitating a greater artist whom I love for sharing this gift with me.Lydell is currently represented by several independent art agents. Keep an eye on works he creates (recreates). He is sure to make a positive impact on todays art market and perhaps be among the masters of tomorrow.
