Another Path: Many use this subject as strategy to initiate attention, this is a parody of the popular cartoons we find in the newspapers and other publications that seize upon architecture of urban infrastructure. The sense of perception when viewing popular manifestations of the 'cartoon' image (not always a funny characterization) is oft more acute when reading the 'funny-papers, or the films we watch than when presented with a photograph. If this heightened sense of perception were applied toward the photo image, whether journalistic, artist generated or by Madison Avenue, what may be gained is a more highly developed sense of visual literacy. A necessary tool of survival in a world where the photo-image is the primary tool of capitalism, one that sway us into a subliminal relinquishing of our hard earned resources to a Madison Avenue campaign.

A native of Baltimore, MD, Ive made N.Y.C. my home for more than half my life. I occupy a space between a world as it is, and one cloaked in personal aspirings of a world where the tension fraught relationship between Nature & humanity may evolve to one guided more by long-term possibilities of preservation, rather than a short-sighted possibility of profit. Contrasts of Nature & humanity often join forces in ways that are prophetic as to the conceptual gulf separating the two. These tensions are primary to my efforts at creating a visual discourse, one where what is, is matrix to possibilities of what might be. Visual formalities, and narrative content are not mutually exclusive, but form an osmotic linking of the two. While Nature & humanity form concerns primary to this presentation of works, some embrace subject matter beyond such issues.
